Depends on where you work. Universities have fixed salary scales on which you move up as you progress (you can easily find those scales on the internet). As the first job after a PhD, it is typically in the band between £30000 and £40000 a year.
For PhD students it is very case-specific. There are all sorts of way to make money while researching, so I can’t really answer this accurately! I would say that the average salary for a PhD student is just under £17,000 per year!
