• Question: what do you do at you spare time

      My favourite hobby is art, I love drawing and painting. I also really like cooking, I live with 3 friends and in the evenings sometimes I’ll cook for them and we’ll watch a film together. I’m pretty good at making curry and pasta dishes. I try to exercise a few times a week, I love hiking and I also go to the gym

    I used to build and maintain various interesting cars – Mazda MX5, Triumph Herald, Lotus 7 replica, Fisher fury. I’ve just started a family so that’s now taking priority, including DIY on the house (as an engineer I love the opportunity to actually make stuff!). Cooking from scratch is one way I like to relax, particularly curries and pizza. I’ve started brewing my own beer – learning a bit about chemistry in the process! Next up is learning to code so I can create some home automation – lights control, heating, security, potentially energy generation etc. Plenty to keep me busy!

    In my spare time there’s all sorts I like doing!

    I’d say my top 3 are: socialising with friends, cooking/baking and playing netball. I stopped playing netball at university as I didn’t feel I had time for it, but I have made sure I make time to play again since starting my PhD as it’s so fun to train and play in matches again!

    I love running. I am currently have a few weeks off but in November I will start training for some ultra marathons I am doing in 20220.
